Another issue of concern to all Texans is border security.
For far too long Washington has shirked its Constitutional duty to secure our borders, costing taxpayers millions.
Nevertheless Texas will fight to secure our borders with or without help from the federal government. Last session alone we increased funding by $41 million to stop illegal immigration, end the scourge of human trafficking, fight the influence of dangerous drug cartels, and prevent spill-over violence coming across the border.
Though these efforts are already paying off we still have a long way to go. While Texas is doing its part we must demand that the federal government do theirs.
